Veteran Norwegian Black Metallers CREST OF DARKNESS are preparing to release an EP ahead of their seventh full-length album, and have released a video of the band rehearsing in preparation for entering the studio on the 17th August to begin recording the drums.  The EP itself will be released on My Kingdom Music and is a follow up to the band’s 2013 album “In the Presence of Death” .  The video features snippets of new material from the band and can be seen below and on the CREST OF DARKNESS YouTube channel at http://youtu.be/B4iwk0ubmIQ

 

Whilst things seem to have been relatively quiet for CREST OF DARKNESS recently, the band has, in fact, been busy behind the scenes writing new material and working on a new website, amongst other things.  Founder and frontman Ingar Amlien has also been finishing work on the upcoming album from ROQUEFIRE,  as well as becoming involved in a new project, details of which will be announced in the not too distant future.  He also recently hit the stage for the first time at a local festival with a band he calls AMLIEN’s INFERNO, which includes Arve Heimdal from Amlien’s former band CONCEPTION, and guitarist Simen Evenrud Bjørnsrud in its lineup.

Commenting on what fans can expect from CREST OF DARKNESS in the future Amlien said:  “We will of course be posting photos and videos of the recording of the EP, but we have some very important news about the band to announce very soon.  Without revealing anything at all, let’s just say it might take a few people by surprise”.
