With “Carrion Skies”, their fourth-full length album ready to hit the streets on the 22nd November, Progressive Post-Black Metallers FEN have released a video for a track taken from the album.  Made by bassist Grungyn to evoke the supernatural atmosphere of the track, the video for ” Menhir – Supplicant”, the fifth track on the six-track album, can be seen below and at http://youtu.be/MqDGA1DqF0U

 

“Carrion Skies” will be released on Code 666, a sub-label of the Aural Music Group, in four different versions,  including a standard jewel box CD, a DLP Gatefold color vinyl which includes one bonus track and is limited to 500 copies, and two different limited edition wooden boxed sets, one of which is limited to only five copies.  Details for the two boxed editions as follows:

The Maniac Collector edition,  strictly limited to 5 hand-numbered copies comes in an 18 x 18 x 4 cm handcrafted black wood box which will have the purchasers name engraved on it and contain the following:

• “Carrion Skies” jewel box CD  in wax sealed black parchment envelope
• A second bonus CD featuring 38 minutes of music comprising 2 exclusive tracks and one rare song
• The band’s debut album “The Malediction Fields” in wax sealed black parchment envelope

Known for their atmospheric sound, FEN was formed  in 2006, and today’s lineup is comprised of The Watcher  on guitars and vocals, Grungyn on bass and vocals, and Derwydd on drums.  As The Watcher recently explained, “Carrion Skies” takes up where its predecessor “Dustwalker” left off and builds on what is a very strong foundation :  ” This record takes the approach we started on ‘Dustwalker’ and builds on it further, whilst simultaneously acknowledging the more obscure-sounding roots of our debut.  Bleaker, harder, yet at the same time more ambient, this record moves us further away from the accepted tropes of what ‘post’ black metal should sound like in 2014″
