Stroszek Releases Video Of New Track From Upcoming Album After Seven Years Of Silence

After seven years of relative silence, FROSTMOON ECLIPSE guitarist CLAUDIO ALCARA is preparing to release a new album from his  solo dark folk/acoustic project STROSZEK.

Titled “About All the Bad Days in the World”, the album is expected to hit the streets in late 2019 on Hypnotic Dirge Records, who describe the album thus:

STROSZEK is a project bringing forth various elements of neo-folk, goth rock, trip-hop and western music blending together seemingly irreconcilable sounds to craft something that is all about feeling and introspection. Contemplation, melancholy, and stories about life are at the forefront of the vibe in STROSZEK’s music. “About All The Bad Days In The World” is an evolution in STROSZEK’s sound, keeping the same aura, but also throwing in some new elements that may surprise old listeners.

 In the meantime, Alcara has given us a taste of what to expect from STROSZEK’s fourth full-length album with the release of a video for the track “The Beast Who Dreams of Man”.  Written by Luca Olivieri and directed by Sara Battolla, the video, which stars Lorenzo De Carlo, can be seen at https://youtu.be/ZxupQA-aeYc

Whilst probably best known for his work as guitarist for FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, one of Italy’s longest-established Black Metal bands,  STROSZEK is a much more introspective vehicle in which Alcara also takes the lead on vocals, inviting the listener on an intimate journey through his life, replacing the distinctive heavy riffs with a much more haunting style, which a guitarist of his calibre is able to do with consummate ease.

Although Alcara may have not been active in the studio with STROSZEK for an extended period, he has been performing his acoustic live sets and making guest appearances regularly, including four editions of the TOWNES VAN ZAND Tribute Festival, and a couple of times at the Tera Salvaria Fest, which is held by torchlight in the Ladin forests.  He has opened twice for 40 WATT SUN during their Italian tour, as well as for HUGO RACE, MATT ELLIOT, MARK SULTAN and DAGGER MOTH, amongst others,  and has appeared with friends such as RICHARD LINDGREN and BOCEPHUS KING.

CLAUDIO ALCARA’S STROSZEK LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

A new website has just been opened for STROSZEK, the project formed by CLAUDIO ALCARA of FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, one of Italy’s longest serving Italian Black Metal bands.  Unlike his work with FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, which mixes Old School Black Metal with acoustic interludes, STROSZEK is a much more introspective vehicle in which Alcara takes the listener on an intimate journey through his life, replacing the distinctive heavy riffs for which he is maybe better known, with a much more haunting style, that can alternate between heavy riffing and a fragile poignancy which a guitarist of his calibre is able to perform with consummate ease.  As well as Alcara himself, STROSZEK features fellow FROSTMOON ECLIPSE members Davide on bass and Richard on drums.

Canada’s Hypnotic Dirge Records have released the following video for “Can’t Make Things Undone” a track from the upcoming STROSZEK album “Sound Graveyard Bound” which is scheduled for release on the 10th March.

FROSTMOON ECLIPSE’S CLAUDIO ALCARA FEATURES ON NEW GODHEADSCOPE RELEASE

FROSTMOON ECLIPSE founder and guitarist Claudio Alcara features on two tracks on “Patience”, the forthcoming four-track EP release from GODHEADSCOPE.   “Patience“ is  the third release from the Californian one-man project formed in 2006  by M. Rosin, and, according to Rosin himself represents GODHEADSCOPE’s “most complete bridging of modern composition and ambient with art-rock and folk”.  The EP will initially be released as a digital download on the 29th November at godheadscope.bandcamp.com before being available through all the usual digital retailers on Meristem Music.  More information about GODHEADSCOPE can be found at www.godheadscope.com

STROSZEK SIGNS WITH HYPNOTIC DIRGE RECORDS FOR RELEASE OF THIRD ALBUM

STROSZEK, the band founded by FROSTMOON ECLIPSE guitarist Claudio Alcara, has inked a deal with Canadian label Hypnotic Dirge Records for the release of the band’s third full length album.  Titled “Sound Graveyard Bound”, the nine-track album is scheduled for release during the latter part of 2011.

Alcara, who along with STROSZEK band mates Richard on drums and Davide on bass, is better known for his work with FROSTMOON ECLIPSE, one of the longest serving Italian Black Metal bands which earlier this year released their fifth full length album on Osmose Productions. Whilst FROSTMOON ECLIPSE mixes old school Black Metal with acoustic interludes, STROSZEK allows Alcara to perform the much more melodic and introspective style of music that he himself listens to, and indeed, “Sound Graveyard Bound” features a cover version of MIKE JOHNSON’s “If The World Hadn’t Gone Insane”

As well as the 2007 debut album “Songs of Remorse” and 2009’s “Life’s Failures Made Music”, STROSZEK also released the “Wild Hunt” EP in 2009, which sold out within days of it having been announced. NEW ALBUM FROM BLACK METALLERS FROSTMOON ECLIPSE RELEASED ON OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS

Osmose Productions has released the new album from Black Metallers FROSTMOON ECLIPSE.  “The End Stands Silent” is the band’s fifth album, and is released in both CD and vinyl formats.  Track listing as follows:

With four previous full length albums as well as several limited edition releases and appearances on tribute albums to its name, FROSTMOON ECLIPSE is one of the longest serving Black Metal bands on the Italian scene.  Formed in the autumn of 1994, the band has long been known for combining Old School Black Metal with acoustic interludes of haunting beauty, setting it apart from the usual fast and chaotic sound one would expect from the genre and creating an atmosphere all of its own.  FROSTMOON ECLIPSE’s line up includes Claudio Alcara on guitars, Lorenzo Sassi on vocals, Gionata Potenti on drums and Davide Gorrini on bass.

FROSTMOON ECLIPSE is due to play live at Carlito’s Way, Retrobido (IT) on the 10th April.
