Details of “Dirty” the 6th full length album from Italo-Norwegian Hard-Industrial-Electro Extreme Metallers ABORYM have been announced.  The 10-track double album, which will be available in digipak, jewel case and gatefold double LP formats,  is set for release on Agonia Records on the 28th May in Europe and the 11th June in the USA/North America.  “Dirty” was recorded at the Fear No One Studios in Italy with Emiliano Natali, reprising his Sound Engineers role from the band’s “Psychogrotesque” album, and it is helmed by Marc Urselli of New York’s Eastside Sound Studio who has worked with the likes of MIKE PATTON and LOU REED.  The electronic part of the album is engineered by D. Loop (KEBABTRAUME, LIMBO). R.G. Narchost (STORMCROW, DEMON’S SHADE, DROWNING ASHES) created “The Spiral shaped chamber” custom sounds library for the band.  Artwork for the album is by ABORYM’s Fabban.

The first CD of the album features new material, whilst the second CD features two tracks from previous albums, which have been completely re-arranged and re-recorded, covers of tracks by IRON MAIDEN, PINK FLOYD and NINE INCH NAILS, and a previously unreleased track performed by both musicians such as Agonia BV, Tamara Picardo, Samuel Heru Ra Ha MK, Hostis, Ulven, Mike Bizzini, David Cholasta, Tobias Dünnebacke, Jonathan Butcher, Jessy Lavallee, Thomas Hochstetler, Mary J. Rooks, Amanda Neilson and Mark Llewellyn, as well as several fans. The song was written by Alberto Penzin (CO2, ex Schizo) and was spliced together from all the different sources. Track listing on “Dirty” as follows:

CD 1
Irreversible Crisis
Across the Universe
Dirty
Bleedthrough
Raped by Daddy
I don’t Know
The Factory of Death
Helter Skelter Youth
Face the Reptile
The Day the Sun Stopped Shining

CD2

Need for limited loss (new track)

Formed in 1992 by frontman Fabban, ABORYM started life as a covers band and went through several transformations, eventually pioneering what the band calls Hard-Industrial-Electro Extreme Metal.  Today’s line up consists of Italians Fabban on vocals, bass and Synths and Paolo Pieri (HOUR OF PENANCE) on guitars, keyboards and programming, together with Norway’s Bard “Faust” Eithun (BLOOD TSUNAMI, MONGO NINJA, ex EMPEROR) on drums.

With “Dirty” being the band’s first release since 2010’s “Psychogrotesque”, all three musicians have something to say about it.

Guitarist Paolo Pieri commented: “This is definitely the most schizoid and experimental ABORYM work so far. This time we focused on pushing the boundaries of electronic music one step forward while retaining the ruthless brutality of extreme metal in a way totally ahead of the times”.

Drummer Bard “Faust” Eithun added: “This time around ABORYM push everything further; the electronic and industrial elements have never been so present. Rest assured, no matter how sick, twisted and beyond everything it sounds, it is still ABORYM.

The last word falls to founder Fabban: “I believe that “Dirty” represents the best material ever written by ABORYM from 1992 until today.  Given that it wasn’t that easy to go beyond an album such as Psychogrotesque, I strongly believe that this time we did exceed every limit and every concept of experimentation – manipulating all the clichès of extreme metal, industrial or electronic music and pushing together elements that are so far away from each other. As a result, we achieved something really innovative, powerful, refined and of a really high standard. The quality of sounds, the nuances, the details passing through the recording quality;  the quality of the machines that we used and abused, the quality of the lyrics, the artwork and the performances of each of us and of all the people who have worked with us, are definitely all at the top. “Dirty” is a record that simply expands the range of our listeners, it’s an album that everyone can enjoy and really appreciate. I am personally very excited and, at the same time, really proud of what you’ll soon be able to listen to. We worked so hard for the past two years on this double album that we have no words to really explain how excited we are to finally see it released. It’s an album that will further change the history of extreme music. Of that I have no doubt.”

Having recently invited fans to make a video using one of the two exclusive tracks that the band recently recorded, Norwegian Extreme Metallers PANTHEON I, have revealed that the winning entry for the song “Martyr” was made by a fan from Serbia and can be seen below or at http://youtu.be/cn3Lz_nE8wc

Commenting on the winning video, frontman Andre Kvebek said: “All the entries we received were of a very high standard, but what set this one apart was the fact that the winner, Regina Kozlik, not only used existing photos of PANTHEON I, but she also created portraits of the individual members that she drew herself.  She will be receiving a package of PANTHEON I goodies in the post very soon.”

PANTHEON I are currently working on their fourth full-length album, which is being recorded at the Skansen Lydstudio in Trondheim.  Drum tracks for the album, which will be titled “Adversus”,  have already been laid down,  with Vegar “Vyl” Larsen (KEEP OF KALESSIN, CHTON, live session drums for GORGOROTH) behind the drum kit in place of regular drummer Mads G (THE ALL SEEING I, ZEENON) who is currently unwell.   Aside from Kvebek and Mads G, the line up includes former ABSU guitarist Aethyris McKay on guitars and clean vocals, cellist Live Julianne, Sagstad (TROLLFEST, SARKOM) on guitars and T.R.S. (1349, DEN SAAKALDTE) on bass.  Drummer Mads G will continue with the band, and will only be absent for the recording of the new album.   A label is currently being sought for the album.

A tape version, of PANTHEON I’s very first album “Atrocity Divine”, limited to 150 copies, has recently been released through Silent Scream Records.  Artwork for the tape is by the Norwegian artist Kjell Åge Meland who has worked with the band on all their releases.   More information about PANTHEON I can be found at http://www.facebook.com/pantheoni

Following on from their 2010 sophomore album “Til Alle Heimsens Endar” Norwegian Black-Folk Metallers GALAR have signed with DARK ESSENCE RECORDS for the release of a  further two albums.  Like its predecessor, the band’s third studio  album, which will be titled “De Gjenlevende” (The Bereaved), will be concept album written entirely in Norwegian, and will include notes explaining both the overall concept as well as each individual lyric.

“De Gjenlevende” will consist of six songs, one of which will be an instrumental, which promise to be even longer, and more epic, than GALAR’s previous material.  As well as the band’s two core members of M. Kristiansen on screams, guitars and bass and A. B. Lauritzen on clean vocals, bassoon and grand piano, the line up on the album will once again include Phobos (GRAVDAL, AETERNUS, MALSAIN) on drums, and will feature a series of session musicians that include both a string quintet and a horn quartet in keeping with the epic material.  Plans are in place to enter the Conclave and Earshot studios in the autumn with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) at the helm.

Jorge Scholz, the band’s lyricist, explains the idea behind the album: “De Gjenlevende” will be, once again, a thoroughly crafted concept album. Its five contemplative texts tell of the utter dreadfulness that haunts both the human mind and body when the season of winter holds every living thing in its grasp. Winter is the time of utter gloom, enfeeblement and inescapable death, which challenges mankind, beasts and plants equally. Yet, as long as there is life, there is hope and eventually a new era of the Sun will bring to an end the seemingly eternal darkness of winter.  With the arrival of spring hope and life will flourish once more.  In its portrayal of this cyclical process of transformation, which is as old as the history of mankind itself, “De Gjenlevende” draws its ideas and inspiration from Pan-European folklore, ontology, and elegies”.

Austrian Black Metallers VALFEANOR have today debuted the track “Kratores” from their upcoming album “The Eerie Constellation” which is set for release on the 25th of March on Cursed Records.   The ten-track album will be the third full-length release from the band, and marks a change in direction towards the more psychedelic end of the genre. “The Eerie Constellation” was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Iratus Canor studios in Austria by Daniel Müller and produced by VALFEANOR founder and frontman Cardinalis Desderoth.  Artwork is by Bernth Brodträger (BLED DRY, Ex-BELPHEGOR Session Guitarist).  “Kratores” can be heard on the player above or at http://soundcloud.com/valfeanorofficial/4-kratores

Track Listing for “The Eerie Constellation” as follows:
1. Interlude
2. Lethe Jenseits
3. Lethe Diesseits
4. Kratores
5. The Eerie Constellation
6. Prelude
7. Chaos Nova
8. Ephemeral
9. The Elegy And The Reverence
10. Postlude

Formed in 2002 VALFEANOR’s lineup comprises Cardinalis Desderoth (HELLSAW) on vocals, bass and keyboards, Isiul (HELLSAW) on guitars and The Unknown on drums.  The band’s first release “En Ny Tid”, which appeared in 2007, was rooted in fantasy themes and took a melodic musical path whilst 2009’s follow up “Noreia” began the change in direction that would lead Desderoth down a much different musical and conceptual route which he develops further in “The Eerie Constellation”.

Commenting on the new album, Desderoth had this to say: “I have worked much harder on this album that either of the others, mainly because musically I wanted to take it in a much more complex direction.  Like many musicians who have played in relatively well-known bands I find it very irritating that certain critics always have to judge one band against the other.  I get pretty tired of having VALFEANOR’s music compared to HELLSAW’s, as the two could not be more different, either in musical style or subject matter.  I can use between 8 and 20 riffs in one song, so the two bands really don’t warrant any comparison.  Essentially all three of VALFEANOR’s albums deal with our awareness and perception of things around us.  “En Ny Tid” was about the fantasy world that exists on the fringes of our day to day reality, and “Noreia” concentrated on the realities of life, which, despite the negative aspects, could also be fulfilling.  “The Eerie Constellation” takes it one step further in an exploration of both the dark things that surround us and the myriad things that are all around us, such as the constellations, and whose beauty we rarely glance at but into which we can escape if we choose to.  It is most definitely not an album that dwells on the negative aspects of our existence”.

VALFEANOR will appear at the Eine in Teich Festival, Neugarten Almseehütte, Gerlitzen, Kärnten, Austria on the 12 July 2013. More information about the band can be found on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/valfeanorofficial

Norwegian Black Metallers CREST OF DARKNESS, whose sixth full-length album “In the Presence of Death” is scheduled for release on My Kingdom Music on the 25th February, have posted a new video of a track from the album on the band’s YouTube Channel.  The video is produced and directed by MONITORmedia, using a special video mix of the track “Demon Child”.  Photography is by Anders Børrensen and Levent Ultanur.  Editing is by Øivind Kristiansen.   The video of “Demon Child” can be seen below or at http://youtu.be/3-sNJCviSGY

“Demon Child” uses live footage of the band, which features the lineup of founder and frontman Ingar Amlien on vocals and bass, Rebo on lead guitars, Kjetil  Hektoen (SJODOGG) on drums and Kjell Arne Hubred on rhythm guitars.  Hubred left the band due to family and other commitments shortly after “In the Presence of Death” was finished and has since been replaced by DJEVELKULT guitarist Jan Fredrik Solheim.

Formed in the mid-nineties by Amlien at a time when his then-band CONCEPTION was at the peak of its popularity, CREST OF DARKNESS allowed Amlien to move away from the Progressive side of Power Metal and more fully explore his interest in Vampirism and Satanic ideology.  Since then he has harnessed his passion for sonic brutality to create Black Metal that has grown in power and intensity over the eighteen years of the band’s existence. With an occasional nod in the direction of both Death and Epic Metal , and even a hint of Gothic, the sound is unmistakably CREST OF DARKNESS.

Tracklisting on “In the Presence of Death” as follows:

2. In The Presence Of Death
