With their sophomore full-length album “Death Tunes” released at the end of last year on Karisma Records, Norwegian Rockers TIEBREAKER have revealed a new video for a track from the album, one in which they wanted to give their fans a taste of what it was to be like on the road with the band.
The video, for the track “Pan American Grindstone”, was filmed and edited by Martin Bremnes, with additional footage by Espen Krøll and Tiebreaker, and can be seen at https://youtu.be/S3PWwKfG-cA

As the band explains: “This film was shot in Bergen and Oslo during our Death Tunes tour of Norway last fall. We wanted to capture the spirit of being on the road as a rock & roll band in Norway; backstage shenanigans, good friends, long winter drives, reckless stage antics, and hard work. All of which is best enjoyed holding a cold bottle of brew in one hand and throwing horns with the other”.
Formed in 2011 and hailing from Odda, Hordaland, a part of Norway known for its deep fjords and brutal landscapes, TIEBREAKER’s lineup consists of Thomas Espeland Karlsen on vocals, Eirik Wik Haug and Olav Areklett Vikingstad on guitars, Patrick Andersson on bass and Pål Gunnar Dale on drums. It is a lineup with an amazing chemistry both in the studio and on-stage – something that has propelled TIEBREAKER to the top ranks of Norway’s rock scene.
“Death Tunes”, which was written over a period of three months in a small cabin in the west of Norway, was recorded at the Amper Tone Studio in Oslo, which is owned by Kjartan Kristiansen of the DUMDUM BOYS, and was produced by KVELERTAK guitarist Bjarte Lund Rolland. The engineer/mix/master on “Death Tunes” is Nick Terry (TURBONEGRO, KVELERTAK, LIBERTINES) with assistant engineers Kim Lillestøl and Espen Andersen. Altogether a heady mix of talent that was able to come together with TIEBREAKER to produce a high-octane album, packed with melodic riffing and spiced up with a dash of bluesy melancholy.
“Death Tunes” is now available in CD, Vinyl and Digital formats from all the usual retailers and direct from Karisma Records at http://karismarecords.bigcartel.com/artist/tiebreaker or from the US website at https://karismarecords.aisamerch.com/band/tiebreaker as well as from https://tiebreaker.bandcamp.com where the album is also available digitally.
TIEBREAKER’S next live appearance will be on the 18th February at the John Dee in Oslo, Norway, when they are special guests at the launch of the new album from ORANGO.
