Sweden’s ALFAHANNE, whose ability both on and off stage to produce their own infectious, crowd-pleasing “Alfapocalyptic Rock” has endeared the band to a legion of fans since the 2013 release of their debut full-length “Alfapokalyps“,  will be back this year with their fifth album “Vår tid är nu”.

But, although fans will have to wait until the 9th February to hear the album in its entirety, Dark Essence Records have today released a new single taken from the album.  Titled  “Wolfman” the track can be streamed or downloaded from a variety of services at

https://link.darkessencerecords.no/Alfahanne_Wolfman

Whilst the video, by Necrolust Productions, can be seen below and on YouTube at  https://youtu.be/wCayoki-82U

Commenting on the track, ALFAHANNE noted that:

The song includes brilliant Steel guitar work which is something different for us, but make no mistake, “Wolfman”  is as “Alfahanne” as it gets. It’s a classic Rock song but it comes with a twist because we have never been afraid of turning left when the road turns right.

Whilst “Vår tid är nu” is unmistakably ALFAHANNE, replete with the band’s mix of Black Metal, Classic Rock,  Punk and a healthy dose of Rock n Roll, it is, nevertheless, their heaviest album to date.  The catchy melodies and the punk swagger are all present, but so too is a an underlying bleak atmosphere that is reminiscent of both the early days of Black Metal and the 80s.

With album cover art by Roger Pettersson and photography by Uffe Sandin, tracklisting on “Vår tid är nu” is as follows:

  1. Intro
  2. 9:e cirkeln
  3. Eremiten (Feat. Doedsadmiral)
  4. Elden har vaknat
  5. Alfa omega (Feat. Nattefrost)
  6. Wolfman
  7. När allt faller-Kaiken Kaatuessa
    (Feat. Spellgoth)
  8. 213
  9. Vår tid är nu (Feat. Nattfursth)
  10. Outro

Known for their ability to attract a veritable who’s who of Scandinavian Extreme Metal icons to guest both on their albums and on stage – artists such as Hoest (TAAKE),  V’gandr (HELHEIM),  Dolk (KAMPFAR), Erlend Hjelvik (KVELERTAK), Spellgoth (HORNA, TURMION KÄTILÖT), Nattfursth (SORHIN), David Lindh (YVONNE and BRODER DANIEL),  Sanrabb (GEHENNA) and Niklas Kvarforth (SHINING), ALFAHANNE carry on this tradition with “Vår tid är nu”.

This time CARPATHIAN FOREST’s legendary Nattefrost himself makes an appearance, along with Doedsadmiral (NORDJEVEL), both of whom contribute their first ever guest vocals with the band, whilst Spellgoth (HORNA) and  Nattfursth (SORHIN) make a welcome return.

“Vår tid är nu” will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Swamp Green Vinyl formats and can be pre-ordered now from:

Having announced their return to Dark Essence Records after a one-album absence, Swedish Rockers ALFAHANNE are ready to (rock n) roll out their fifth full-length album.  Titled “Vår tid är nu”, their latest release promises to be chock-full of ALFAHANNE’s very own “Alfapocalyptic Rock”, a sound that mixes Black Metal with Classic Rock and Punk and more than a large measure of Rock n Roll.

And, since ALFAHANNE is well known for being able to attract some very big names to appear both on studio albums and on stage, “Vår tid är nu” carries on that fine tradition, with Nattefrost (CARPATHIAN FOREST) and Doedsadmiral (NORDJEVEL) contributing their first ever guest vocals with the band, whilst Spellgoth (HORNA) and  Nattfursth (SORHIN) make a welcome return.

With ALFAHANNE’s many fans chomping at the bit to see what their irrepressible heroes have got is store for them, Dark Essence Records have today released  a none-too-gentle introduction in the form of a single and video for the track “Alfa Omega” which features Nattefrost himself.

“Alfa Omega” is available to download or stream on a variety of services at https://link.darkessencerecords.no/Alfahanne_AlfaOmega

It is also available on YouTube at  https://youtu.be/xcz3w7bZOO4

ALFAHANNE had this to say about the single and the album:

Today we’re dropping the first bomb from our upcoming album: “Vår tid är nu” (“Our time is now”) in the form of the single “Alfa Omega”.  This was actually the first song that we wrote for the album, and is the foundation of the rest to come. It’s an up-tempo punk/metal song that includes the classic Alfa guitar melodies and features Nattefrost’s unmistakable vocals.

As to the album itself, “Our time is now” – this is the beginning of the end.

Set for release on February 9th 2024, and exactly ten years since the release of the band’s debut full-length, “Vår tid är nu” is ALFAHANNE’s heaviest album to date.  Filled with the band’s trademark catchy melodies and punk attitude, “Vår tid är nu” has an underlying bleak atmosphere that is reminiscent of both the 80s and the early days of Black Metal.

With album cover art by Roger Pettersson and photography by Uffe Sandin, tracklisting on “Vår tid är nu” is as follows:

  1. Intro
  2. 9:e cirkeln
  3. Eremiten (Feat. Doedsadmiral)

  5. Alfa omega (Feat. Nattefrost)

  7. När allt faller-Kaiken Kaatuessa
    (Feat. Spellgoth)
  8. 213
  9. Vår tid är nu (Feat. Nattfursth)
  10. Outro

Since bursting onto the scene in 2010 ALFAHANNE has, as previously mentioned, shared both the studio and the stage with a list of artists that reads like a who’s who of Scandinavian Extreme Metal and includes Hoest (TAAKE),  V’gandr (HELHEIM),  Dolk (KAMPFAR), Erlend Hjelvik (KVELERTAK), Spellgoth (HORNA, TURMION KÄTILÖT), Nattfursth (SORHIN), David Lindh (YVONNE and BRODER DANIEL),  Sanrabb (GEHENNA) and Niklas Kvarforth (SHINING).

Today’s lineup of Pehr Skjoldhammer on guitars and vocals, Fredrik Sööberg on guitars, Jimmy Wiberg on bass,  Niklas Åström on drums, and Stefan Eriksson on keyboards and guitars, display a full-on attitude and an exuberance that is infectious.  Pair this with an easy going, friendly  interaction with the fans (both on and off the stage) and you have a band that is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

The 1st December will see Karisma Records release the final three albums from the Back Catalogue of Prog Rockers ARABS IN ASPIC, and, as a prequel, the label has released, the title track from the band’s sixth album “The Magic of Sin” as a digi single.

The single, can be downloaded or streamed from a number of services at:

https://link.karismarecords.no/AIA_TheMagicOfSin

“The Magic of Sin” itself  was an album that marked a turning point in the band’s career, setting the parameters, both musically and structurally, for the direction that ARABS IN ASPIC would take going forward. Like all the albums in the Back Catalogue re-releases, it has been re-mastered  by Jacob Holm-Lupo (WHITE WILLOW, OPIUM CARTEL, SOLSTEIN etc), and features artwork by the band’s long-time collaborator Julia Proszowska.

Following on from the 2021 re-release of the first three albums from the band’s back-catalogue, those included in this, the final trilogy of releases, are:

“Pictures in a Dream” which was originally released in 2013, and will now be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Blue/Yellow marble Vinyl formats.

2015’s “Victims of your Father’s Agony” which will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Yellow/Blue Marble Vinyl formats.

And, of course, the afore-mentioned “The Magic of Sin”. First released in 2017, it is a very special album for ARABS IN ASPIC, for reasons too numerous to go into. Suffice it to say that its re-release deserves a special treatment.  Thus,  aside from the usual CD and Digital formats, “The Magic of Sin” will also be available in the form of a limited first pressing of the LP version in orange/black marble vinyl which comes in a unique tri-fold cover revealing more of Julia Proszowska’s striking cover art. If its  combined with the original  “Syndenes Magi” LP, all five panels of the painting will be visible.

All three albums will also be available as a Limited Edition Box Set vinyl titled “IV – VI”

All  versions of all the albums can now be pre-ordered from:

Webshop:  https://www.karismarecords.no/shop/
US Webshop: https://karismarecords.indiemerch.com/
Bandcamp: https://arabs.bandcamp.com

Full details and history of each of the individual releases can be found at https://www.karismarecords.no/blog/2023/10/10/karisma-records-announces-details-of-three-back-catalogue-re-releases-from-arabs-in-aspic/

With a lineup  consisting of Jostein Smeby on Guitars + vocals, Stig Jørgensen on Organs + vocals, Erik Paulsen on Bass + vocals, Eskil Nyhus on Drums + cymbals and Alessandro G. Elide on Percussion + gongs,  and based  in Trondheim, Norway, the band’s roots can be traced back to the Golden Era of rock.

Given that they have seven full-length albums to their name (their seventh, “Madness and Magic” having been released on Karisma Records in 2020), ARABS IN ASPIC are certainly not newcomers to the prog scene.  Indeed, they have  been at  the forefront of 70’s inspired progressive rock and proto-hard rock for fifteen years.

ARABS IN ASPIC’s unmistakable sound is mix of loud, heavy guitars and drums, 12 string acoustics, funky bass and percussion, screaming Hammond organs, soft Rhodes, Mellotrons and 70’s Synths, topped with plentiful vocal harmonies.  It’s an all-encompassing sound that includes aspects of classic rock, funk, pop, prog, heavy rock, bossanova, and a capella.

ARABS IN ASPIC’s next live appearance will be on the 11th November, alongside Dark Essence Records artist LUMSK, at the Verkstedhallen & Lobbyen in Trondheim, Norway.

ARABS IN ASPIC are no newcomers to the prog scene,  having  been at  the forefront of 70’s inspired progressive rock and proto-hard rock for fifteen years.  Based in Trondheim, Norway, the band’s roots can be traced to the Golden Era of rock, with a sound that is a mix of loud, heavy guitars and drums, 12 string acoustics, funky bass and percussion, screaming Hammond organs, soft Rhodes, Mellotrons and 70’s Synths, topped with plentiful vocal harmonies.

With seven full-length albums to their name, the lineup  of Jostein Smeby on Guitars + vocals, Stig Jørgensen on Organs + vocals, Erik Paulsen on Bass + vocals, Eskil Nyhus on Drums + cymbals and Alessandro G. Elide on Percussion + gongs,  include, within their sound,  aspects of classic rock, funk, pop, prog, heavy rock, bossanova, and a capella.

When ARABS IN ASPIC signed to Karisma Records for the release of the band’s seventh full-length album “Madness and Magic”, it was the labels intention to also release the entire ARABS IN ASPIC back-catalogue.  With the first three albums having been released in 2021, Karisma is now ready to release the next three albums on the 1st December, not only as individual albums, but also as a limited edition box set which comes just in time for Prog fans wishing to give (or receive) something special for Christmas.

First up we have “Pictures in a Dream”, ARABS IN ASPIC’s  fourth album, originally released in 2013 on Black Widow Records.  The band’s love of experimenting with sounds and recording methods is at the forefront, along with some rather unconventional use of microphones  to capture the sound in the studio itself, rather than directly from the source.   For example  nine microphones are used on  the Hammond organ alone.  The inevitable result of this was the need for a lot of tweaking, and not so much control, and very much a different kind of sound for 2013.

The re-release itself is based on all of the original recordings, but everything has been re-edited and remixed from scratch, thereby removing some of the pitfalls that came with having so many microphones in the room. Some of the vocals/lyrics have been replaced with lyrics from the archives, along with some new ideas, and a few instrumental overdubs, rendering the album even better than its predecessor.

Remastered  by Jacob Holm-Lupo (WHITE WILLOW, OPIUM CARTEL, SOLSTEIN etc)  “Pictures in a Dream” also sees the band  changing the song sequence to make a new listening experience that creates quite a different mood.

“Pictures in a Dream” will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Blue/Yellow Vinyl formats.  With artwork by Julia Proszowska, and RUPHUS vocalist Rune Sundby guesting on two songs, tracklisting is as follows:

  1. Rejected Wasteland / Pictures in a Dream (feat. Rune Sundby)
  2. Let Us Pray
  3. You Are Blind
  4. Felix
  5. Ta et steg til siden
  6. Difference in Time
  7. Lifeguard@sharkbay
  8. Prevail to Fail (feat. Rune Sundby)
  9. Hard to Find
  10. Vi møtes sikkert igjen

Next up is the fifth album from ARABS IN ASPIC “Victim of your Father’s Agony”, which first saw the light of day in 2015, again on Black Widow Records, and which has now also been re-edited and remixed from scratch, with a change in the song sequence and instrumental overdubbing, and once again Jacob Holm-Lupo can be found at the remastering helm. It is possibly the band’s most diverse to date, due to the large numbers of songwriters on this particular release.

This new version of the album starts with a short instrumental inspired by the band’s first concert in France which took place at sunset, 300 meters from the most beautiful beaches of the Atlantic and in front of 2000 ecstatic prog nerds. “One”, is an oldie that didn’t quite fit on the previous couple of albums, but has been a staple in their live shows since 2009.

“Italian Class” started as an instrumental called “The Turk and the Italian Restaurant”.  With no proper Italian vocabulary, the band cobbled together bits and pieces from the most well known Italian nursery rhymes and  performed the song live at a festival, where some found it brilliant, and others were offended or embarrassed on the band’s behalf!  “Sad Without You”  is about the sudden realization that you’re eventually going to lose your loved ones, whilst “The Flight of the Halibut” features no less than 16 lead guitars in unison.

With artwork by Julia Proszowska, “Victim of your Father’s Agony”,  will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Blue/Yellow Vinyl formats, and tracklisting is as follows:

  1. Saint-Palais-sur-Mer Part 1
  2. One
  3. Italian Class
  4. God Requires Insanity
  5. Saint-Palais-Sur-Mer Part 2
  6. Sad Without You
  7. Flight of the Halibut
  8. Tv3
  9. Victim of your Father’s Agony

And then we have what will be the sixth and final re-release, “The Magic of Sin”, which was originally titled “Syndenes magi” and was a turning point in the career of ARABS IN ASPIC. After “Pictures in a Dream” and “Victim of your Father’s Agony” the infrastructure of the “new Arabs” was set. They had lots of songs ready to go, but, after attending a spectacular KING CRIMSON gig in Oslo, the band decided that their new material wasn’t up to par, and they had to do better.

Returning to his home in Trondheim, Jostein Smeby wrote what was to become   the 12-minute song “Syndenes Magi”. He called up cover artist Julia Proszowska and asked her to write down some keywords for a concept album.  She delivered an excellent selection of keywords about anxiety, which inspired the composition of the rest of the album.  Originally written in English, countless attempts to make the vocals blend in with the music failed and Smeby tried to write a verse in Norwegian instead, and there it was!  Re-writing the rest of the lyrics in  Norwegian,  “Syndenes magi”  was released on Apollon Records in the fall of 2017, and received a lot of international attention, despite having only Norwegian lyrics.

Regarding what has now become “The Magic of Sin”, which was once again remastered by Jacob Holm-Lupo in his Dude Ranch Studios, Jostein Smeby commented:

When it comes to the remix of the album, that is the hardest project we’ve ever done. We were really happy with the record – so if it was going to get remixed, then the result had to be even better. The band wasn’t entirely in agreement about a remix at all, but the composer had some unfinished business regarding English lyrics.

I tried singing the original English lyrics again. And it sounded just as bad as last time. What do you do then? Well, you delete all the Norwegian vocals and work until it gets better. Working with the remix and remaster of «The Magic of Sin» has taken more than twice the amount of time than writing, recording and mixing the original version took.

Obviously, since “The Magic of Sin” is something of a very special album to the band, for so many reasons, its new release also merits something a bit special,  so, aside from the usual CD and Digital formats, the album will also be available in the form of a limited first pressing of the LP version in orange/black vinyl which comes in a unique tri-fold cover revealing more of Julia Proszowska’s striking cover art. If its  combined with the original  “Syndenes Magi” LP, all five panels of the painting will be visible.

Tracklisting on “The Magic of Sin” is as follows:

  1. The Magic of Sin
  2. Down in Darkness Pt 2
  3. Down in Darkness Pt 3

All three albums will also be available as a Limited Edition Box Set titled “IV – VI”

Dark Essence Records will kick off 2023 with the release of “Avstand”, the fourth full-length album from Norwegian Heavy Rockers SLEGEST, and, whilst fans are waiting for the 20th January so that they can get their hands on it, the label has today released a new single from the album, together with an accompanying video.

“Forløysning og Rus” is the track that has been chosen, and its title and content have a particular significance for the band, as they explain:

“Forløysning og Rus” means “redemption and intoxication”, two important components in SLEGEST. The song bursts with energy and nasty riffs, and can easily be played at maximum volume.

The single “Forløysning og Rus” can be streamed or downloaded from a number of services at

https://link.darkessencerecords.no/Slegest_Forloysning-og-rus

Whilst the video, which was filmed  by Håvard Nesbø and is shot at an abandoned farm and an old house of worship in the band’s hometown of Leikanger, can be seen below.

Formed  in 2010 by guitarist and vocalist Ese, SLEGEST started life as a solo project and it wasn’t until 2013 that it evolved into a recording and live band.  Aside from Ese, today’s lineup comprises Sør on guitars, Hövard on bass, and the newly announced drummer Chris.  In fact, it is the arrival of Chris, whose previous experience playing live with the band has stood him in good stead, has proved to be significant for SLEGEST in that “Avstand” is the first album on which Ese does not play drums himself.

Known for their no-nonsense, head banging heavy rock,  “Avstand”  marks a change to SLEGEST’s hard-hitting heavy metal sound.  It is still very much SLEGEST, with its trademark Black Metal and Classic 70’s and 80’s heavy rock overtones, but this time the band has chosen to freshen things up by upping the tempo a bit.

Inspired by Nietzsche’s The Birth of Tragedy, “Avstand”  was mixed by Herbrand Larsen at the Conclave & Earshot Studio, and mastered by Iver Sandøy at the Duper/Solslottet Studio, both in Bergen.  With artwork by Tom Korsvold, “Avstand” Tracklisting is as follows:

1. Innsikt
2. Evigheit på Evigheit
3. Forløysning og Rus
4. Vinterkristus
5. Gåte
6. Er det deg Livet?
7. Til det Største som Finst
8. Oh Baby (Status Quo cover)

“Avstand” will be available in CD, Vinyl and Digital formats and is now available to pre-order from

https://link.darkessencerecords.no/Slegest_Avstand

SLEGEST are set to join KAMPFAR on a series of dates in Norway during January and February.  Routing is as follows:

JANUARY
Fri 20: Rockeeller / John Dee / Centrum Scene, Oslo
Sat 21: Verkstedhallen & Lobbyen, Trondheim
FEBRUARY
Fri 03: Ovenpaa, Kopervik
Sat 04: Hulen, Bergen

Dark Essence Records, the label that gave the  Swedish Rockers their recording start back in 2014, have welcomed ALFAHANNE back into the fold, something the band is more than happy about:

ALFAHANNE is back where it all started at Dark Essence.  We got side-tracked but now we are right back on track and where we belong. It feels so great to be on Dark Essence again – to be part of their roster, and we  couldn’t be more pleased about this. Everyone at the label has always felt like friends and we enjoyed working with them on the release of our first two albums, and  will enjoy working with them again on the release of our fifth.  So  now let the darkness begin…

When ALFAHANNE burst onto the scene in 2010 their minds were fully set on bringing the danger back to rock n roll.  Playing what they call “Alfapocalyptic Rock”, ALFAHANNE  mixes Black Metal with Classic Rock and Punk, and good old Rock n Roll, creating their own style of music. A style that has earned them plaudits from critics and fans alike.

With a lineup comprising Pehr Skjoldhammer on guitars and vocals, Fredrik Sööberg on guitars, Jimmy Wiberg on bass,  Niklas Åström on drums, and Stefan Eriksson on keyboards, ALFAHANNE’s stage debut came at 2014’s Inferno Metal Festival where their show garnered them high praise.

Since  then, their high energy, exuberance, and easy going, friendly  interaction with the fans (both on and off the stage) make them guaranteed crowd pleasers and much in demand for club and festival appearances.

The band’s popularity is not limited to fans, as the list of guests of the ALFAHANNE’s previous albums demonstrates.  A list that fans of extreme genres will find mouth-watering and that includes fellow Dark Essence artists Hoest (TAAKE) and V’gandr (HELHEIM), as well as other titans of the Scandinavian scene such as Dolk (KAMPFAR), Erlend Hjelvik (KVELERTAK), Spellgoth (HORNA, TURMION KÄTILÖT), Nattfursth (SORHIN), David Lindh (YVONNE and BRODER DANIEL),  Sanrabb (GEHENNA) and Niklas Kvarforth (SHINING).

With work progressing on their fifth studio album, ALFAHANNE had this to say about what fans could expect:

Having already released four album,  Eskilstuna´s finest will soon be back with a new one. Once again we will explore the darkness of mankind and continue to widen our musical realms.  The new material will mark the beginning of a new era for the band and the fifth album will truly be a monster. Its release will make it clear that ALFAHANNE is an unstoppable force…

ALFAHANNE have already been confirmed to appear at Steelfest Open Air in Finland and Rock Away Winter in Borås, Sweden, in May, the Spetakkel Festivalen in Larvik, Norway in September, and the Eindhoven Metal Meeting in the Netherlands in December.

Bjorn Riis 2017 PR1

Norway’s Karisma Records have today revealed details of the sophomore full-length album from AIRBAG guitarist BJØRN RIIS.  Titled “Forever Comes to an End”, the new album is follow up to 2014’s highly acclaimed, and award-winning,  “Lullabies in a Car Crash”,  and is set for release on the 19th of May.

Written and produced by Riis himself, and engineered and mastered by long-time collaborator Vegard Kleftås Sleipnes, “Forever Comes to an End” features guest appearances from AIRBAG’s Henrik Fossum on drums  and Asle Tostrup on programming,  Simen Valldal Johannessen from OAK on piano, and vocals from the Norwegian singer, SICHELLE MCMEO AKSUM.

A haunting image, shot in Beisfjord, near Narvik in Northern Norway, by the photographer Kjetil Karlsen, forms the highly evocative artwork for “Forever Comes to an End”, and track listing is as follows:

  1. Forever Comes to an End
  2. Absence
  3. The Waves
  4. Getaway
  5. Calm
  6. Winter
  7. Where are You Now

Bjorn Riis Coverart PR

A highly respected guitarist within the Internet guitar community, and with his own blog, followed by thousands of fans each week, Riis’s musical journey started back in his very early teens when bands like KISS and BLACK SABBATH held sway along with the heavily guitar-oriented side of the classic rock era of the ’70’s. The subsequent emergence of Progressive Rock bands such as PINK FLOYD, PORCUPINE TREE, MARILLION AND GENESIS, together with genres like Electronica and Movie Scores, also played a huge role in the formation of the nascent guitarists’ musical direction.

“Forever Comes to an End” pays tribute to all these diverse influences.  From the dark and dirty riffs of Toni Iommi and Zakk Wylde, to the emotional playing of David Gilmour and Steven Rothery. The melodic and sombre voice of Steven Wilson and Tim Bowness and the cinematic landscapes of composers like Thomas Newman and John Barry. And the whole is brought together by Riis very skilled and very individual touch.

“Forever Comes to an End” will be available in CD, 12″ Vinyl and Digital Download formats and a short video teaser for the album can be seen below and at https://youtu.be/FZ1tXevQrl4

Tiebreaker PR 2016

With their sophomore full-length album “Death Tunes” released at the end of last year on Karisma Records, Norwegian Rockers TIEBREAKER have revealed a new video for a track from the album, one in which they wanted to give their fans a taste of what it was to be like on the road with the band.

The video, for the track “Pan American Grindstone”, was filmed and edited by Martin Bremnes,  with additional footage by Espen Krøll and Tiebreaker, and can be seen at https://youtu.be/S3PWwKfG-cA

x
As the band explains: “This film was shot in Bergen and Oslo during our Death Tunes tour of Norway last fall. We wanted to capture the spirit of being on the road as a rock & roll band in Norway; backstage shenanigans, good friends, long winter drives, reckless stage antics, and hard work. All of which is best enjoyed  holding a cold bottle of brew in one hand and throwing horns with the other”.

Formed in 2011 and hailing from Odda, Hordaland, a part of Norway known for its deep fjords and brutal landscapes, TIEBREAKER’s  lineup consists of Thomas Espeland Karlsen on vocals, Eirik Wik Haug and Olav Areklett Vikingstad on guitars, Patrick Andersson on bass and Pål Gunnar Dale on drums.  It is a lineup with an amazing chemistry both in the studio and on-stage – something that has propelled TIEBREAKER to the top ranks of Norway’s rock scene.

“Death Tunes”,  which was written over a period of three months in a small cabin in the west of Norway, was recorded at the Amper Tone Studio in Oslo, which is owned by Kjartan Kristiansen of the DUMDUM BOYS, and was produced by KVELERTAK guitarist Bjarte Lund Rolland.  The engineer/mix/master on “Death Tunes” is Nick Terry (TURBONEGRO, KVELERTAK, LIBERTINES) with assistant engineers Kim Lillestøl and Espen Andersen.  Altogether a heady mix of talent that was able to come together with TIEBREAKER to produce a high-octane album, packed with melodic riffing and spiced up with a dash of bluesy melancholy.

“Death Tunes” is now available in CD, Vinyl and Digital formats from all the usual retailers and direct from Karisma Records at  http://karismarecords.bigcartel.com/artist/tiebreaker or from the US website at https://karismarecords.aisamerch.com/band/tiebreaker  as well as from  https://tiebreaker.bandcamp.com where the album is also available digitally.

TIEBREAKER’S next live appearance will be on the 18th February at the John Dee in Oslo, Norway, when they are special guests at the launch of the new album from ORANGO.

Karisma Records have inked a deal with Rockers TIEBREAKER that initially sees the label release two full-length albums from the band.   First up will be the re-release of TIEBREAKERS’s debut full-length album “We Come From The Mountains”, which was previously self-released in Norway, and which Karisma plans to release internationally in both CD and digital formats in the autumn of this year.   In the meantime, the band plans to move to a cabin in the Norwegian countryside during  August to concentrate on their sophomore full-length album, about which more details will be released at a later date.

Formed  by five childhood friends in 2011 in Odda, Hordaland, TIEBRAKER emerged from the Norwegian underground and within a few very short years grew into one of the finest rock bands in the country.  With their high-energy shows, TIEBREAKER have established a solid reputation on the live circuit, playing over 200 shows since 2013, including a tour of Texas, where the band played eleven shows in nine days.

To coincide with the announcement of their new record deal, TIEBREAKER have debuted a video of the band playing live at the ABC Studios.  Filmed by Gregor from thetripidea.com and produced by Kjetil Ulland, the video can be seen below and on the band’s YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/ptT_aigL474  or on the Karisma Records channel at https://youtu.be/UWE8nMkAfWo
