NORWEGIAN BLACK METALLERS NATTVERD REVEAL NEW TRACK, VIDEO AND DETAILS OF UPCOMING ALBUM

Osmose Productions have announced that the third full-length album from Black Metallers NATTVERD is set to hit the streets on the 30th April.  Titled “Vandring” it forms the final chapter of the Black Death trilogy which includes the 2019 EP “Skuggen, and 2020’s full-length “Styggdom”.

According to the band, whose lineup is composed of Ormr on Vocals and Guitars,  Atyr on Guitars, Sveinr on Bass, Antichristian on Drums, and Serpentr on Guitars, “Vandring” is “a more dynamic album than our last, because  we have challenged the core that is NATTVERD, whilst at the same time  staying true to the spirit that is the band. We have pushed some boundaries, which has resulted in more diverse tracks, that touch a lot on melancholy, and is even more aggression, with epic moments”.

As a taster of what to expect, a track from the album has been released as a single.  The track, “Naar Taaken Fortaerer Alt”, which features Geir Bratland (Gerlioz of DIMMU BORGIR, ex GOD SEED) on piano, can be streamed or downloaded from various  digital platforms at https://backl.ink/143962158

“Vandring” was recorded during March and April of 2020 at Velvet Recording in  Spydeberg, Norway, with producer Christer Krogh who also mastered the album.  With artwork by Khaos Diktator Design and Ormr, and with layout by Ormr, Doedsadmiral and Silere Omnia, tracklisting for “Vandring” is as follows:

Formed two years ago, and with a lineup of extremely experienced and talented musicians, comprised today of Serpentr  on vocals, Ormr on Vocals and Guitars,  Atyr on Guitars, Sveinr on bass. and Anti Christian on session drums,  NATTVERD has always sought to keep the actual identity of those musicians private, preferring that the band be judged  purely on its music, as opposed to any former, current, or future, bands or releases its members may be involved in.

NATTVERD’s extremely successful debut album “Vi Vet gud Er En Løgner”  showed a band that played Black Metal in the traditional way – cold and nasty and filled with fury and hate. But with “Styggdom”, NATTVERD have grown and expanded, to  come up with a much more varied, atmospheric,  album. An album that shows just how versatile this band can be when it comes to delivering Black Metal.

Drums, Bass, Guitars and Vocals for “Styggdom” were recorded at Velvet Recording, Spydeberg, Norway and engineered by Nattverd and Christer Krogh. Mixing and mastering was handled by Tore Stjerna at the Necromorbus Studios.

With artwork, layout and design by Khaos Diktator Design, “Styggdom” will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition LP formats.  Tracklisting is as follows:

NORWEGIAN BLACK METALLERS NATTVERD SIGN TO OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS

Norwegian Black Metallers NATTVERD have inked a deal with Osmose Productions for the release of the band’s sophomore full-length album.  Titled “Styggdom” it is the follow up to 2017’s debut album “Vi Vet gud Er En Løgner” and  is set to hit the streets on the 31st January 2020.   Work on the album has been completed and more details will follow.

When NATTVERD first announced their existence two years ago, they were absolutely adamant that they should be judged purely on their music, and not on any former, current, or future, bands or releases the members may be involved with.  And this is a philosophy NATTVERD adheres to today, with the only additional information being a slight change round in lineup, with original members  Ormr  still on Vocals and Guitars and Atyr concentrating on Guitars, whilst handing over Bass duties to new member Sveinr. Former session drummer Serpentr  takes on  Vocals and Anti Christian takes his place as Session Drummer.

So what exactly does the music itself reveal about NATTVERD?  Most obvious is the fact that this is a band that plays Black Metal in the traditional way: cold and nasty and filled with fury and hate, with the occasional foray into more atmospheric and melodic realms, keeping the whole thing interesting and original.

But the thing that stood out most about NATTVERD from a listen to their debut album, was the confidence and musical skill demonstrated by its members, marking the individuals out as extremely experienced and talented musicians, and definitely not fledglings dipping their toes into the Black Metal pool for the first time.

It should always be the case that an album stands, or falls, on the quality of its music alone, but rarely does that happen because so many other aspects fall under consideration, not least the musicians who form the band, and their past history in terms of style, releases and their presence in other bands.  But NATTVERD comes to us with a clean sheet.  The only things anyone knows about the band is that it is a three piece consisting of Atyr of guitars and bass, Ormr on Vocals and session drummer Serpentor, that they hail from Norway, and that they play Black Metal.  And that, according to NATTVERD, is all you really need to know, because the music will tell you the rest.

But what is it exactly about NATTVERD that has earned them a recording contract before  they have barely left the starting line, and sets them  apart from the plethora of other Black Metal bands who are all vying for a label deal?  Well, they play Black Metal in the traditional way, without any attempts to add any touches from any other genres or tag themselves onto the latest trends in sub-genres.   But  the Black Metal they play is played with a confidence that belies the newness of the band and must surely point to some very experienced musicians.

Nor are they are they a one-trick pony. Far from it.  NATTVERD’s music ranges from the downright cold and nasty, filled with fury and hate,  to the melodic and atmospheric, and at times is even tinged with melancholy.  NATTVERD provide evil-aplenty to satisfy the most discerning Black Metal fan, and more than enough variations and emotions to keep their sound fresh and interesting.

Having inked a deal with the German label Darker Than Black Records, NATTVERD are set to release their debut full-length album “Vi Vet gud Er En Løgner” (We Know God is a Liar) on the 30th September in CD and Digital formats.  With artwork by Misanthropic Art, tracklisting for “Vi Vet gud Er En Løgner” is as follows:
