Seigmen 1994 PR

Between 1992 and 1997 iconic Alternative Rockers SEIGMEN released 5 classic albums: “Pluto”, “Ameneon”, “Total”, “Metropolis” and “Radiowaves”.  Sadly, these were only ever released as CDs, but, as previously announced, Karisma Records plans to do something about that by releasing all five albums in both CD and Vinyl formats in December 2019 (which also happens to be SEIGMEN’s 30th anniversary ).

Whilst this in itself is a considerable feather in the cap for both band and label, Karisma would like to take it one step further, if the fans are behind the idea, by releasing a limited, and exclusive,  vinyl box set.

The box set will include all the albums on 180 gram coloured vinyl.  Additionally, “Total”, “Metropolis” and “Radiowaves” will be expanded to Double LP sets, with selected B-side tracks as a bonus. The Box Set will also include a booklet written by the band’s manager Øystein Ronander,  a SEIGMEN slipmat for your record players,  and a CD with carefully selected unreleased material.

All items above are exclusive to the Box Set and will not be available separately anywhere else.

Additionally, Karisma will release a limited 7″ vinyl single of the track “Monsun” which will only be available through the Crowdfunding campaign, and will be limited to 250 pieces.  “Peter Parker Theme” will make up the B-side of the single, and this track will not be included in the Box Set.

For the most die-hard collectors out there, Karisma will also make available for purchase a few complete test pressing.  These will be housed in white outer sleeves which will be signed and numbered.

An extensive track list, and more information about all the SEIGMEN items available through the Crowdfunding scheme, and how you can get your hands on them, can be found in both English and Norwegian at fnd.uz/seigmen

To celebrate this significant release, SEIGMEN will perform a series of shows around Norway in December. The first one to have been announced will take place on the 19th at the Sentrum Scene in Oslo.  More dates will be announced shortly.

Seigmen 1994 PR

Karisma Records are set to release the five classic albums from Alternative Rockers SEIGMEN, who this week will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary by playing four special one-off concerts at Bergen’s legendary Hulen venue.

The five albums in question – “Pluto” (1992), “Ameneon” (1993), “Total” (1994), “Metropolis” (1995) and “Radiowaves” (1997),  have been remastered, and will appear in vinyl and CD formats, with “Total”, “Metropolis” and “Radiowaves” having been expanded to double LP versions containing bonus tracks of selected B-sides.

It will be the first time that any of the albums have be released on vinyl, and a very limited edition collectors vinyl box set will also be available, which will contain bonus material.   More information about the releases will be announced during the Summer.

Hulen, Northern Europe’s oldest rock venue, is itself celebrating its 50th anniversary,  so it is fitting that it should host these very special SEIGMEN concerts,  which will replicate four different concerts from the ’90s.

The concerts taking place are as follows:

Wed 29 May: “Ameneon” release concert of April 1993
Thu 30 May: “Total” release concert of October 1994
Fri 31 May: “Metropolis” release concert of October 1995
Sat 01 June: “Radiowaves” release concert of September 1997

Ljungblut Live PR

Ljungblut live by Silke Jochum

With a critically acclaimed album ” Villa Carlotta 5959″ released in November of last year, and two exclusive shows coming up, Alternative Rockers LJUNGBLUT have released a brand new single on Karisma Records.

Titled “Et ørlite håp så stort” (A tiny hope so great), the song was  written by Sindre Pedersen and Kim Ljung after the release of  ” Villa Carlotta 5959″.It was mixed by Alex Møklebust (Seigmen, Zeromancer) who also contributed to the recording.

“Et ørlite håp så stort” , about which founder Kim Ljung had the following to say, shows a marked difference from the album, showcasing, as it does, more electronic elements:

Sindre (Pedersen, bass player) sent me the song. Usually when I receive ideas from the other members of the band, I take them apart, rearrange them and so on. This time I barely did anything. Everything was already in place, and to me the lyrics and melody came naturally, like it often does with good songs in my world. It feels like something that has been laying waiting for the barriers to break, finally allowing it all to flow free.

LJUNGBLUT  will play two special intimate shows in front of seated audiences in Norway this month.  The first will take place on Friday 26th April at the Kulturhuset Ælvespeilet in Porsgrunn, followed the next day by a show at the Lille Ole Bull Scene in Bergen.  Full details can be found on the following Facebook events:

Porsgunn:  https://www.facebook.com/events/538220493355063/
Bergen: https://www.facebook.com/events/2307721335926799/

Formed in 2005 by Kim Ljung, LJUNGBLUT is  a vehicle for the material Ljung didn’t think was right for either SEIGMEN or ZEROMANCER, for whom he is the bassist and main songwriter.  Three solo albums later, LJUNGBLUT evolved further with the addition of full-time members, some of whom had collaborated on LJUNGBLUT’s  first two albums.

Joining Ljung (keys and vocals) are Dan Heide (ZEROMANCER, RED7) on guitars, Ted Skogmann (APOPTYGMA BERZERK) on drums , Joakim Brendsrød on keys and Sindre Pedersen on bass, and, as a quintet, the band released two independent albums with Norwegian lyrics. “Villa Carlotta 5959”, is  LJUNGBLUT’s sixth full-length album, and the last in the trilogy of Norwegian language albums, exploring  matters both historical and personal.
