Norwegian Black Metal veterans CREST OF DARKNESS have revealed a new video by Stig Kenneth Limmesand for the title track from their ninth full-length album “The God Of Flesh”.

The video can be seen below and at https://youtu.be/0VNOLVXpwjQ

A
CREST OF DARKNESS founder Ingar Amlien has this to say about the new video:

Stig Kenneth Limmesand has done a great job with the video for “The God Of Flesh”.  He’s succeeded in capturing CREST OF DARKNESS and all our symbolism in the best possible way, presenting them in a such a way that is not only up to date, but also very much “Old School”  in the “right way”

Released on My Kingdom Music in December of last year, “The God Of Flesh” is still filled  with CREST OF DARKNESS’  trademark Satanic themes,  but, at the same time, it marks a change to the  feel, variety, and depth of the music.  It is, according to Amlien, “probably the darkest and most brutal album we’ve ever made! It’s also the most honest work ever from my perspective

With “The God Of Flesh” CREST OF DARKNESS’ vastly experienced, and extremely skilled,  lineup of Amlien (CONCEPTION, ROQUEFIRE, AMLIEN’s INFERNO) on Bass and Vocals, Rebo on Rhythm and Lead Guitars, and Berhard (ex- PALE FOREST) on Drums, along with the album’s session keyboardist Kristian Wentzel,  demonstrate how equally at home they with more progressive and melodic elements, as they are  the with the aggressive and dark brutal side, for which they are known.

Crest Of Darkkness PR1

Seeking an outlet for his passion for sonic brutality and his interest in Vampirism and Satanic ideology, on which he is an acknowledged expert, Amlien  formed CREST OF DARKNESS in the mid nineties and considers today’s lineup to be the strongest in the band’s history, as he explains:

During the whole production of the album I was thinking that now, more than ever before, I wanted to make an album my way!  And, as a result, we haven’t made any compromises whatsoever, in any direction.  And I’m very fortunate to be able to say that I was not alone during the whole process. With the help of my fantastic band mates Rebo and Bernhard, it became possible to bring my darkest fantasies and visions to life through “The God of Flesh”

“The God of Flesh” is available in Digital, Digipak CD, Deluxe CD Box, and Vinyl formats from all the usual retailers at http://smarturl.it/CODFLESH

Despite ENEPSIGOS’s 2017 debut album “Plague of Plagues” having been enthusiastically welcomed by fans of traditional Black Metal, the band itself always felt that the album did not really go far enough in establishing what ENEPSIGOS,  and its music,  was all about.

But now, with Osmose Productions set to release ENEPSIGOS’  sophomore full-length album,  “Wrath Of Wraths”,  on the 27th March, all that is about to change.  Because, according to the band, “Wrath Of Wraths” is “a manifestation of  what ENEPSIGOS really is, and will be.  Dark, disgusting, twisted, ritualistic and violent”.

And today Osmose have released a single  from the album to give fans a taste of what to expect.  The track, “Cups Of Anger”  is available from https://open.spotify.com/album/0e7KhfWWta7YuSZP3hH9Qs

Formed in 2016  by  V.I.T.H.R, otherwise known as Doedsadmiral, founder and frontman of bands such as NORDJEVEL, SVARTELDER and DOEDSVANGR,  and drummer Thorns,  known for his work with BLUT AUS NORD, DEATHROW, FIDES INVERSA, FROSTMOON ECLISPE and DARVAZA,  the band parted company with bassist Straff upon completion of the debut album and were consequently joined by Rituul on bass and guitars, and it is with this lineup that “Wrath Of Wraths” was recorded.

Originally conceived as a studio project, and demonstrating a brutality and darkness imbued with with ritualistic undertones, ENEPSIGOS recently inked a deal with the Flaming Arts Agency to bring the band’s  sound, which is is unashamedly rooted in early, and some would say “true”,  Black Metal traditions, to live audiences.

Formed in 1998 and drawing their initial inspiration from bands such as ABRUPTUM, HAVOHEJ, SAMAEL and SUNNO))), T.O.M.B’s lineup of  No-One, B. Zimimay, Tyler B and Samantha Viola have skilfully crafted their own avant-garde style, which is characterised by an eclectic mix of Ambient, Doom, Industrial, Noise and traditional Black Metal.

Dealing with subject matters such as death, paranormal activity and occult practicesn T.O.M.B have used their trademark sound, which is both horrific, and, at the same time, hypnotically spell-binding,  to devastating effect on “Thin The Veil”,  demonstrating why the band is considered to be  one of the top innovators of modern day Black Metal.

Hymnr PR

HYMNR, who describe themselves as a Black Metal band from unknown parts of the world, have inked a deal with Saturnal Records for the release of their debut full-length album “Far Beyond Insanity”, which is set to hit the streets on the 8th May.

With artwork by David Thièrrèe, “Far Beyond Insanity”  will be available in CD, Digital and LP formats, as well as a Limited Edition Vinyl , limited to 50 copies, which will contain a poster and a patch, and will be signed by the whole band.  For Old School fans, Elderblood Productions will release a Tape version, limited to 100 copies.

Hymnr Album Art PR

The band has given absolutely nothing away as regards who exactly HYMNR’s members are, simply announcing that the lineup is composed of V on Vocals, V1 on Guitars and VII on Drums.  They have, however, issued this statement regarding the band, its formation, and what to expect from its music:

HYMNR is an entity, a formation that spawned itself.  The music, the story, and the concept of HYMNR is its own tale, charting the tragic path that has led the world, humanity, and religion on a downwards spiral.

HYMNR is a not so much a band as a concept that sets forth the old anguish-filled tales of how it all ended up where it did.

What HYMNR is, no one can say, except maybe the induvidual minds of the ones who are willing to embark on this journey.

HYMNR  needs to be heard and seen, and, above all, felt.

Nattverd PR1

With their sophomore full-length album “Styggdom” set for release on Osmose Productions on the 31st January 2020, fans of Norwegian Black Metallers NATTVERD get their first taste of what to expect from the album with the debut of the track “Dragsvoll”, which can be heard below and at https://youtu.be/02P3z2u_zU4

A
Formed two years ago, and with a lineup of extremely experienced and talented musicians, comprised today of Serpentr  on vocals, Ormr on Vocals and Guitars,  Atyr on Guitars, Sveinr on bass. and Anti Christian on session drums,  NATTVERD has always sought to keep the actual identity of those musicians private, preferring that the band be judged  purely on its music, as opposed to any former, current, or future, bands or releases its members may be involved in.

NATTVERD’s extremely successful debut album “Vi Vet gud Er En Løgner”  showed a band that played Black Metal in the traditional way – cold and nasty and filled with fury and hate. But with “Styggdom”, NATTVERD have grown and expanded, to  come up with a much more varied, atmospheric,  album. An album that shows just how versatile this band can be when it comes to delivering Black Metal.

Drums, Bass, Guitars and Vocals for “Styggdom” were recorded at Velvet Recording, Spydeberg, Norway and engineered by Nattverd and Christer Krogh. Mixing and mastering was handled by Tore Stjerna at the Necromorbus Studios.

With artwork, layout and design by Khaos Diktator Design, “Styggdom” will be available in CD, Digital and Limited Edition LP formats.  Tracklisting is as follows:

  1. Slakt Dem, Der De Loeper Hoedeloese Rundt Baalet
  2. Dragsvoll
  3. Skoddeskott
  4. Heksebrann
  5. Gatelangs I Land Og Rike

Nyrst PR1

Dark Essence Records have announced today that they have welcomed NYRST onto their roster and will be releasing the debut full-length album from the Icelandic Black Metallers  in 2020.

Formed in the winter of 2013, NYRST released their first demo in 2016.  The demo garnered praise for the band’s use of diverse vocals and chilling atmosphere, whilst NYRST’s  mystic and haunting stage performances have gained them respect as  a live band in the metal scene of their native Iceland

Today’s lineup of Snæbjörn on vocals,  guitarists Eysteinn and Davíð, Egill on bass and Sveinbjörn on drums, pays homage to the bands grim and icy Icelandic heritage by delivering a debut album that promises to be filled with a soundscape that is incredibly cold, stark and barren, whilst its lyrics come straight from old horror literature, laced with cosmic undertones.

NYRST had this to say about their upcoming collaboration with Dark Essence Records:

Nyrst are thrilled to announce that we have joined the Dark Essence Records roster to debut our first album. We draw huge inspiration from various artists on the label so we are extremely honoured to be able to work with this revered label.

Our trust lies with  Dark Essence Records and we believe they are the perfect platform for us to grow and expand our music.

Over the twenty plus years of their existence T.O.M.B have skilfully crafted their own avant-garde style, which is characterised by an eclectic mix of Ambient, Doom, Industrial, Noise and traditional Black Metal.  It is a style that has earned the band a well-deserved place as one of the top innovators of modern day Black Metal.

Drawing their initial inspiration from bands such as ABRUPTUM, HAVOHEJ, SAMAEL and SUNNO))), musicians No-One, B. Zimimay, Tyler B and Samantha Viola formed T.O.M.B in 1998, and they have, since then,  gone on to release  numerous LPs, EPs, compilations and splits.  Releases imbued with T.O.M.B’s trademark sound that  is both horrific, and, at the same time, hypnotically spell-binding,  and which deals with subject matters such as death, paranormal activity and occult practices.

Code PR1

Dark Essence Records announced today that they have inked a deal with the UK’s CODE and will release the band’s fifth full-length album in 2020, on a date as yet to be announced.

Formed in London in 2002, CODE have, since then, adroitly eschewed any attempts to categorise them or place them into a particular genre, preferring to forge, as the band puts it, their own “low path”.  Starting from  the black ruminations of Aort’s early project, SEASONAL CODE, the band drew a creative line that led through a series of full-length studio albums starting from the brittle avant-garde of  2005’s “Nouveau Gloaming”, to 2009’s Spellemann-nominated “Resplendent Grotesque”, then on to the mad theatre of 2013’s “Augur Nox”,  and the bleak, anaesthetic wash of 2015’s “mut”.

A  savage live tour recording also appeared in 2015, and, in 2017, CODE released two EP’s – “Lost Signal”, which was largely a live re-forging of the material from a new perspective, and “Under the Subgleam” which served as a hint at what was to come.

CODE’s lineup of Aort and Andras on Guitars, Lordt on Drums, Syhr on Bass and Wacian on Vocals, have carved out a stark new shape in modern music and, having kept in touch with Dark Essence Records over the past decade, both band and label had no hesitation about working together.

Code PR2

As CODE explained:

Our first contact with Dark Essence was way back in 2009 when we were honoured to be asked to play at their festival in Bergen.  We have been keeping in touch ever since and are delighted to now officially be a part of the  Dark Essence family.  As a culmination of our varied musical past, Dark Essence feel like the perfect home for the metallic blackness we have been busy concocting over the last two years.

We are very excited to be working with a label that firmly believes in CODE and we are keen to bear the blackened fruit of this alliance in 2020. The harvest of this communion will be our forthcoming fifth album which promises to be a return to CODE at our sharpest, most dynamic and blackest best.
