SWEDEN’S VANHELGA DEBUTS LYRIC VIDEO FOR TRACK FROM UPCOMING RELEASE

VANHELGA, one of Sweden’s most extreme exponents of the DSBM genre  are set to re-release an extended version of their 2014 Mini Album “LPT” which was previously only available in digital format.  Completely remastered, and with the addition of a never-before released track ” Drömlik eufori”,  as well as new artwork,  “LPT” will be available in Digipak format and will be strictly limited to 300 copies worldwide.

Quite possibly the most personal, and disturbing,  release from a band known for its disturbing lyrics and imagery, “LPD” was written by founder J. Ottosson, who based it on his own experiences during an enforced involuntary stay in a psychiatric hospital, to which he was  committed under the Swedish  ‘Lagen om Psykiatrisk Tvångsvård’ law.  The “LPT” of the title.

“LPT” is a raw and almost unbearable emotionally honest account of the pure suffering  and  horrors that result from someone who is not only undergoing drug withdrawal  but is also suffering from psychosis and mental health problems,  and who is being confined within the dark corridors of a psychiatric hospital against their will.

Formed in Linköping, Sweden, in 2001 by  J. Ottosson, aka 145188, who got together with likeminded musicians in order to finally breathe life into his vision, something he had not been able to do with any previous bands and musicians he had worked with.  Through their music and lyrics VANHELGA, which, translated from the Swedish means “Profane”, and whose current lineup includes 145188 (ESKAPI, ex-LIVELOVER)  on Guitars and Vocals,   J. Ejnarsson (TAKETH) on Guitars and Backing Vocals, and R. Jönsson on Bass, explores the darker side of humanity.  The one that few will admit exists, but which nevertheless is a huge part of every individual’s existence.

VANHELGA’s music can doubtlessly be classed as Black Metal, but that would be too restrictive a definition, and it is with no small sense of irony that the band has coined the phrase “Positive Music For Positive People” because VANHELGA’s  music is cold and sinister but with melodies and moments of melancholy that can draw you in and lull you into a false sense of security before you realize, too late, that you have been caught in an ominous web of sound that sends shivers down your spine.

Sweden’s SHINING is set to hit the road for a 23-date tour during May and June 2019. Accompanying SHINING on what will be called the “Return of the Enemy” tour. will be Slovenian Black Metallers SRD, with no other bands or local supports being included on the tour.

Commenting on the tour the band had this to say:

SHINING are finally heading out for our first European tour in 3 years, and the first one in honour of our 10th album “Varg Utan Flock”, which, upon its release, once again proved that SHINING are the undisputed kings of pitch black, anti-humanitarian art.

Because of the band’s long history of never adjusting to the norm, SHINING have decided to refuse to have any local support acts on any of the dates, and,  instead of having some semi-interesting pay-to-play opening band, we will be bringing along Slovenian Black Metal band SRD, who are newly signed to Kvarforth’s own label THE SINISTER INITIATIVE.

“Unalterable” will be the third full-length album from MIST OF MISERY, and promises to be the longest, and most in-depth work that the band has every created.  Split into two parts, with fourteen tracks, and a total running time of almost two hours, “Unalterable” was recording during 2017 and 2018 at the Forlorn Halls Studios and  in various private locations in Stockholm, Sweden.

Of “Unalterable”, the band had this to say:

The actual conception of “Unalterable” goes a long way back, with the title track having already been written in 2014. 
However, back then, we had no idea that we would be using it  as the  title track for our third-full length album. 
The rest of the songs were composed during 2017 and 2018 and the album was recorded during the same period. 


This album differs a bit from our earlier releases, both in production and in the composition of the songs. 
They are longer, darker, and more atmospheric than on any of our previous releases, and with its running time of almost two hours, it is the by far the longest work we’ve ever recorded .

The title “Unalterable” refers to the path of life, unalterable despite all efforts to alter its course, forcing us to dwell in this miserable existence until life’s end.

MIST OF MISERY’s next live appearance will be at Copperfield’s in Stockholm, Sweden, on the 30th March.

Formed in 2010, ALFAHANNE’s debut full-length album “Alfapokalyps” appeared on Dark Essence Records in 2014 and  was followed by “Blod Eld Alfa” in 2015.  “Det Nya Svarta”, the band’s third full-length  release hit the streets in April 2017 on Indie Recordings.  ALFAHANNE’s  lineup of Pehr Skjoldhammer on Vocals and Guitar, Fredrik Sööberg on Guitars, Niklas Åström on Drums and Jimmy Wiberg on Bass was recently augmented by the addition of Stefan Eriksson on keyboards.

Sweden’s “Alfapokalyptic Rockers” ALFAHANNE, whose third full-length album “Det Nya Svarta” is set for release on Indie Recordings in April have today revealed another track from the album via a lyric video by Marcelo Vasco Arts .  The track, ” Avgrundsgravitation”  features guest vocals by  DAVID LINDH of SOOT & FLOOD, YVONNE and  BRODER DANIEL is premiering exclusively on Ghost Cult magazine at http://www.ghostcultmag.com/exclusive-video-premiere-alfahanne-avgrundsgravitation/

ALFAHANNE’s lineup of Pehr Skjoldhammer on Vocals and Guitar, Fredrik Sööberg on Guitars, Niklas Åström on Drums, and Jimmy Wiberg on Bass,  came together to form the band in Eskilstuna, Sweden, in 2010. With considerable experience gained in bands such  as VINTERLAND and early MAZE OF TORMENT,  and with an abundance of energy and exuberance, ALFAHANNE hit the ground running with their debut full-length album “Alfapokalyps”, which  appeared on Dark Essence Records in 2014 and  was followed by “Blod Eld Alfa” in 2015.

With their impressive, and totally likeable,  swagger, and their natural affinity for making friends with their fans, ALFAHANNE’s growing reputation as a dynamic live act, coupled with a sound that they describe as “Alfapokalyptic Rock”, which mixes Black Metal with Classic Rock and Punk, and good old Rock n Roll, has earned the band an ever-growing army of followers.

Along with winning over their fans, ALFHAHANNE have also earned the respect of established musicians, amongst whom are TAAKE’s Hoest, SHINING’s Niklas Kvarforth, HELHEIM’s V’gandr,  KVELERTAK frontman Erlend Hjelvik, Spellgoth from HORNA and TURMION KÄTILÖT, and Nattfursth from SORHIN, all of whom have guested in the studio with the band, and some of whom have also appeared live on stage with them.

Frontman Skjoldhammer recently explained that with their third full-length album ALFAHANNE are continuing  to explore the dark side of mankind: “Alfahanne’s lyrics are very personal and have many layers of dirt. Once you dig deeper into them you find many truths as I see them.  Alfahanne will never lean to the left or to the right or write about political issues. The only political issue that is close to our hearts is equal rights but the flipside of that same coin is that we think everyone is equally…. Equally useless.” 

Commenting about ” Avgrundsgravitation”,  Skjoldhammer had this to say:

“This one is about falling. When you’re young you have lots of hopes and dreams, but as you get older you realise that they won’t happen.  But you still can’t let them go, s o you just keep thinking that tomorrow will be better ad infinitum.  But the truth is that today’s medication and therapy only makes rock bottom seem further away. You just keep on falling, further and further into the abyss, and the abyss becomes deeper and deeper than you think”.

ALFAHANNE, who recently inked a deal with Indie Recordings for the release of their third full-length album “Det Nya Svarta”,  set to hit the streets on the 7th April, have signed a booking deal with the international booking agency Pitch & Smith.  With offices in the UK and Sweden,  Pitch & Smith, who represent artists from across the globe throughout Europe, the UK, Asia and Australasia, is one more step forward for the dynamic foursome who aim to bring back a sense of danger to Rock n Roll with their self-styled brand of “Alfapokalyptic Rock”.

Commenting on the new collaboration ALFAHANNE had this to say: “Despite the fact that we cut our teeth in bands like VINTERLAND and MAZE OF TORMENT, which are essentially what you would class as bands on the “extreme” end of the musical spectrum, ALFAHANNE has proved to be a totally different beast.  When we started out, our  audience was, not unexpectedly,  drawn mainly from the Black Metal scene, but the more we became known, and especially the more we played live, it became obvious that ALFAHANNE’s appeal was much wider and we found that we were attracting all kinds of fans.

With their third full-length album “Det Nya Svarta” set for release on the 7th April on Indie Recordings,  Sweden’s ALFAHANNE have revealed a track from the album.  Titled “Stigmata”, the band explained  that the track “is about our home town. How you are born full of hope for the future, but the raw climate destroys you and the town drags you down”.

Recorded at the Dödskult studio by Alfahanne’s Pehr Skjoldhammer and Mixed and mastered by Stamos Koliousis, “Det Nya Svarta” follows the ALFAHANNE tradition of including some high profile artists making guest appearances.  Artists which in the past have included  TAAKE’s Hoest, SHINING’s Niklas Kvarforth, HELHEIM’s V’gandr,  KVELERTAK frontman Erlend Hjelvik, Spellgoth from HORNA and TURMION KÄTILÖT, and Nattfursth from SORHIN, not just on their first two albums, but also live on stage

Formed in Eskilstuna in 2010,  the self-styled “Alfapokalyptic Rockers” burst onto the scene with energy, exuberance , and an impressive swagger, which, coupled with a fan-friendly attitude quickly earned them respect,  and an ever-increasing, and dedicated, following.  ALFAHANNE’s debut full-length album “Alfapokalyps” appeared on Dark Essence Records in 2014 and  was followed by “Blod Eld Alfa” in 2015.

The band’s lineup of Pehr Skjoldhammer on Vocals and Guitar, Fredrik Sööberg on Guitars, Niklas Åström on Drums and Jimmy Wiberg on Bass,  have a couple of decades of experience under their belts in bands like VINTERLAND and early MAZE OF TORMENT.  Together they have created a sound that mixes Black Metal with Classic Rock and Punk, and good old Rock n Roll that is unmistakably ALFAHANNE’s.

Frontman Skjoldhammer recently explained that with their third full-length album ALFAHANNE are continuing  to explore the dark side of mankind: “Alfahanne’s lyrics are very personal and have many layers of dirt. Once you dig deeper into them you find many truths as I see them.  Alfahanne will never lean to the left or to the right or write about political issues. The only political issue that is close to our hearts is equal rights but the flipside of that same coin is that we think everyone is equally…. Equally useless.”

BLACK METALLERS NORDJEVEL ANNOUNCE EP, EXPAND LINEUP & SIGN WITH THE FLAMING ARTS AGENCY

On the heels of the very successful self-titled debut album, Black Metallers NORDJEVEL are set to release “Krigsmakt”, a 7″ EP, which will hit the streets on Osmose Productions on the 20th February.

With artwork by Khaos Diktator Design, the three-track EP will be limited to 500 copies, the B side of which is silk screen printed, and comes with a printed inner sleeve . Tracklisting on “Krigsmakt” is as follows:

NORDJEVEL was founded by frontman Doedsadmiral (SVARTELDER, DOEDSVANGR, ENEPSIGOS) and guitarist Nord (FATAL IMPACT, TVANGESTE, BYRDI), and, making use of Doedsadmiral’s considerable skills at bringing together musicians who are not only hugely experienced, but who also share the same musical ideas and ideals, the band’s ranks were quickly swelled by MARDUK’s Fredrik Widigs on drums and former RAGNAROK bassist DzeptiCunt.  With NORDJEVEL’s distinctive sound firmly set, the the band have added another guitarist to their lineup in the shape of Morten “Noralf” Kleftaas, who had previously appeared with the band as a session live guitarist.

The success of the band’s debut album meant that virtually overnight offers started to come in for live appearances, and, as a result, NORDJEVEL have handed their booking and management responsibilities to the Flaming Arts Agency. Commenting on the new collaboration the band had this to say:

“We have to admit that the success of the debut album caught us a little by surprise.  We knew we had something special, but the response from the fans and critics was overwhelming, and resulted in a lot of interest in us playing live.  We had to totally rethink everything very quickly, and came up with what we consider to be a perfect solution – and that was teaming up with Flaming Arts.  Patricia Thomas, who has been Doedsadmiral’s personal manager for longer than either of them care to remember, and who works with all his projects, will continue handling all of NORDJEVEL’s PR. She and Flaming Arts have frequently worked together over the years and know how each other functions, which is a big plus for everyone concerned as there is no learning process.  So now we have a great band and a great team, and we can look forward to the future, which will include more live appearances world-wide”.

Aside from preparing for their already confirmed live appearances, which include a UK tour in April, including an appearance at the Eradication Festival, a US tour in May, which will culminate in an appearance at the Maryland Deathfest, and an appearance at the Gothoom Open Air Festival in Slovakia in July, NORDJEVEL are currently working on their second full-length album.

Sweden’s self-styled “Alfapokalyptic Rockers” ALFAHANNE have inked a deal with Indie Recordings, who are set to release the band’s third full-length album “Det Nya Svarta” on the 7th April.

Hailing from Eskilstuna, ALFAHANNE burst onto the scene in 2010 with the avowed intent to bring back a sense of danger to Rock n Roll.  Playing what the band calls “Alfapocalyptic Rock”, which mixes Black Metal with Classic Rock and Punk, and good old Rock n Roll, ALFAHANNE have created their own style of music, full of the kind of swagger and attitude that earns them plaudits from critics and fans alike.

Add to this the fact that ALFAHANNE were, right from the word go, able to attract high calibre guests such as  as TAAKE’s Hoest, SHINING’s Niklas Kvarforth, HELHEIM’s V’gandr,  KVELERTAK frontman Erlend Hjelvik, Spellgoth from HORNA and TURMION KÄTILÖT, and Nattfursth from SORHIN, not just on their first two albums, but also live on stage, and have continued this enviable the tradition with “Det Nya Svarta” , and you know you have something pretty special.
